Senior researchers at BioTEC, Prof. Dr. Peter Leinweber and Prof. Dr. Yakov Kuzyakov.
Also, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Velemir Ninkovich from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Hab. Łukasz Uzarowicz from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.

Workshop on the use of Trimble X7 scanner

Trimble X7 scanner is a high-speed 3D laser scanner with combined servo drive/scanning mirror, integrated HDR imaging, automatic calibration, survey-grade self-leveling and laser pointer. It develops of above-ground models of surfaces of natural and anthropogenic objects, which are necessary for the analysis of surfaces of various objects. May be used to model various objects outside and inside the premises.

Workshop on the use of the Soil Research Scanner

AgroCares Scanner is a portable infrared (NIR) soil scanner. With the help of the AgroCares scanner, it is possible to determine the main indicators of the soil, such as the amount of organic matter, soil pH, moisture content, organic carbon, total nitrogen content, etc. AgroCares Scanner is a quick, convenient and innovative way to carry out soil analysis. Workshop on the use of the Soil Research Scanner organized by BioTEC Chief researcher prof. dr. Vaclovas Bogužas and BioTEC Junior researcher dr. Jovita Balandaitė.

Workshop on the use of Flagship drone platform MATRICE 350 RTK

This next-generation drone platform features an all-new video transmission system and control experience, a more efficient battery system, and more comprehensive safety features, as well as robust payload and expansion capabilities.

The LiDAR scanner is used to create various surface models and determine the height and structure of various objects, e.g. may generate models of the earth’s surface, determining the height of plantations and many more.

Chief researcher dr. Hussam Jouhara received an award winning VMU AA competition for scientific research in the category “International Scientist” for the collection of scientific products “Development of advanced energy systems and research on their efficiency and sustainability”. The winner was awarded a prize, an award and a diploma.

Presentation and Training on the use of N₂O/H₂O and CH₄/CO₂/H₂O Trace Gas Analyzers

The training was conducted by representatives of UAB Vildoma, who presented the possibilities of newly purchased trace gas analyzers, and showed how to use them. The training took place at the VMU AA Experimental Station.

Li-COR portable trace gas analyzers for N2O/H2O and CH4/CO2/H2O are designed to conduct advanced research by scientists in the field of Agronomy.

Presentation of SimaPro software and its application on scientific research

The seminar was led by dr. Dainius Savickas, lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering of VMU AA.

During the seminar, the possibilities and application of SimaPro software in scientific research were presented, research using SimaPro was reviewed.

The seminar was attended by the faculty members of Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Agronomy, also by research staff of Bioeconomy Research Institute.

Work shop on the use of underwater drone and water sampler in Lavysas lake

In the lake Lavysas, VMU AA scientists tested the capabilities of a new underwater drone and water sampler. Prof. Giovanni Bacaro (Department of Life Sciences, University of Trieste) joined the workshop (in the photo on the left).

Water sampler – 500 ml capacity device is designed to take water samples without contact with air in various water bodies up to 100 m deep. Innovative Virtual reality (VR) and Augmented reality (AR) technologies are used to work with this equipment

Training on the use of research stand for aerobic and anaerobic processing of plant biomass and organic waste

The training was conducted by representative of UAB „Addeco“, who presented the possibilities of newly purchased Research stand, and showed how to use it. The training took place at the VMU AA Laboratory of Biogas.

Research stand for aerobic and anaerobic processing of plant biomass and organic waste is designed to study, model and demonstrate the processes of aerobic and anaerobic processing of plant biomass and organic waste. Research on the biodegradation of biomass and organic waste is necessary for evaluating the potential of biogas and biomethane production, the efficiency of composting processes and the quality of the resulting products.

“FIFISH V6 Expert” drone and its’ applications

The training was conducted by dr. Linas Jurevičius and “Rov-tech” representative Aleksandr Verchoburov. During the workshop, the newly purchased “FIFISH V6 Expert” drone and its accessories for research were presented. During the seminar, the possibilities of the equipment were demonstrated in the nearby Graužės pond. Participants of the workshop were able to test the control system of the underwater drone for data collection and observations.
