Students Invited to Attend T4EU Mobility Weeks in Spain and Poland
Students who are on the lookout for broader possibilities of development have a great new opportunity to gain new knowledge, meet new people and improve important skills during Transform4Europe Mobility Weeks in Poland and Spain. The events will take place on 24–28 April in Katowice (Poland) and 9–10 May in Alicant (Spain). The registration to both events for the students is open until 27 March.
For both mobility weeks, students are able to choose to attend modules (workshops) for which 3 ECTS credits are rewarded and recognised in all partner universities of the Transfrom4Europe Alliance. Travel and accommodation expenses will be funded by T4EU.
Mobility Week in Poland
The T4E Mobility Week in Katowice will be held on 24–28 April. The focus of the event will be on changes: transformations in post-industrial regions, environmental challenges and rapid climate change.
Students are welcome to choose from five offered modules: Challenges and choices of the Anthropocene epoch; Found in translation: how to understand cultures (and nature); Negotiate your way in life and business; Metaversum and law; and Gender equality in the society. For participating in the modules, students will receive 3 ECTS credits.
All participants of the T4EU Mobility Week in Katowice will also have the opportunity to have fun in complementary activities: an integration picnic at the campus of the University of Silesia, the Grand Concert at the Academy of Music in Katowice and various walking tours dedicated to getting to know Silesia.

Mobility Week in Spain
T4E Mobility Week in Alicant will take place on 9–10 May. The main topic of the event is digital transformation. Students will be invited to consider the integration of digital technologies and tools into various aspects of society, including businesses, government, education, and healthcare. It involves the adoption of digital technologies such as cloud computing, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain, to enable more efficient and effective ways of working and delivering services to the public.
Students may choose one out of four workshops: Become a Knowledge Entrepreneur, From Data to Knowledge, Introduction to Music Information Retrieval and EdTech for Second Language Learning. Just like those attending the Mobility Week in Poland, students here will receive 3 ECTS credits.

Public lecture by business representative Łukasz Lewandowski
Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy (VMU AA) Faculty of Agronomy on March 30 at 11 a.m. at room 503 invites you to participate in a meeting with Łukasz Lewandowski, who has been working as a director at AGRO-LAND for more than a decade. The business partner who arrived under the Erasmus+ program will give lectures on soil moisture conservation, reducing gas emissions, applying Strip-Till technology, modernizing the farm and the economics of its management. Ł. Lewandowski works not only in the business sector, but is a farmer on his own farm and is studying for a PhD in agriculture at the UTP University of Science and Technology, Bydgoszcz, Poland. The speaker will share his practical experience in business and his own farm, theoretical knowledge and the first results of his scientific research.

Matlab and Data Analysis Class offer for PhD students
VMU doctoral students are invited to attend the Matlab and Data Analysis Class, which is organised by one of the Transform4Europe alliance’s partners: Saarland University in Germany. The class, which has received a lot of positive feedback, aims to introduce students to the data analysis software Matlab. In order to work with it, students are not required to have programming knowledge. The only prerequisite is basic computer skills. Online registration is open until 31 March.
Matlab is:
- A calculator for interactive calculations
- A programming language that also provides complex functions with one command
- A tool for simple and complicated calculations with large amounts of data
- A platform to summarize and automate different steps of the data evaluation (e.g. read in data, summarize, statistically evaluate, create graphics and save)
- A Swiss Army Knife for data analysis and simulations
Course contents:
- Interactive calculations with Matlab
- Automation for repeated tasks, e.g. the similar analysis of several data sets
- Fundamentals of programming: functions, loops, if statements
- Graphical representation of data/simulations/results
- Basic statistics with Matlab
- Import of data from files
Course dates:
- Tuesday, June 13;
- Thursday, June 15;
- Tuesday, June 20;
- Thursday, June 22.
The lectures will take place online on MS Teams from 3 PM until 7 PM (Lithuanian time, EEST time zone).
Participation in all four lectures is recommended because all provided material is important for further lessons. For this class, students are granted 1 ECTS credit point.
The first 10 students who register will be accepted to the courses. Online registration is open until 31 March. When registering, students are requested to use their university email.
A Digital Learning Platform for Generation Z: Passport to IFRS®. Multiplier Even
On February 2023, a Multiplier Event of Erasmus+ project was held at the Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy (VMU AA), Lithuania within the framework of the activities executed for the PASSFR project. The Multiplier Event contributed to the dissemination of all intellectual outputs to stakeholders in Lithuania.
Participants included students and teachers from VMU, academics from the main Lithuania higher education institutions who are involved in IFRS (international financial reporting standard) training and teaching, as well as practitioners from accounting companies and other companies’ accountant. The participants were from different major business and universities in Lithuania, such as the Kaunas Technology University, Vilnius University, Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, Klaipėda Higher Education Institution, PwC Lithuania, Lithuanian Agricultural Advisory Service and other business company. The Multiplier Event was organized by VMU team: assoc. prof. dr. Erika Besuspariene, Aurelija Markelyte, Kristina Geseviciene, Jevgenija Furgasė, Silva Katutytė, Ieva Miseviciute, Edita Vitunskaite.
At the beginning of the event welcome speech was given by Faculty of Bioeconomy Development dean assoc. prof. dr. Bernardas Vaznonis. E. Besuspariene also welcomed the participants and made a general presentation of PASSFRS project. Then I. Miseviciute made the presentation of the results of the surveys and the principle based IFRS education model. J. Fugase showed the participants where to find the PASSFR website, discussed what will be posted on it, and shared a visualization of the PASSFR platform.

J. Furgase demonstrated the training material in the case of IAS 2 and showed a digitized video according to AIS 2.

S. Katutyte made the presentation of Case Studies e-book and multicultural PASSFR peer learning teams. Taking into account that small businesses in Lithuania usually apply national accounting standards, but local legislation allows them to apply IFRS, a speaker from PwC Lithuania Brigita Stepankevičienė was invited to share a business view on the importance of IFRS training and make presentation. The presentation on the importance of IFRS training from the view of business was made.

Finally an interactive PASSFR session, where K. Geseviciene presented the training material and case study fragments of IFRS 13, was held.

Afterwards, the participants together with K. Geseviciene solved the case analysis.

The event concluded by participants engaging into a very fruitful discussion about the implications and benefits of the project. All the stakeholders were very interested in the outcome of the project.
Apply Now: Transform4Europe Business Plan Competition
VMU students and employees are invited to participate in the Transform4Europe Business Plan Competition. The winning team will be awarded 5,000 euros and three bursaries for attending the Entrepreneurial School in Trieste, Italy. All participants will be offered free classes on business planning and international experiences. Participants are invited to register online until 31 March.
The competition is a unique opportunity for the university students of the Transform4europe Alliance to work on a business idea in international and multidisciplinary teams. The mandatory topic of the projects is “sustainability” that aims to fulfill the needs of current generations without compromising the needs of future generations, while ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental care and social well-being.
Application deadline is 31 March. Selection of the 7 best projects: first half of April (3–17 April). Deadline for the submission of the business plan: first week of June (29 May – 2 June). Training: second half of April till end of May (18 April – 26 May). The final BPC Event during the T4EU Week organised by the University of Trieste: 5–9 June (TBD).

Apply for Transform4Europe Professional Development Training
The Transform4Europe alliance invites VMU employees to participate in professional development training webinars. The first webinars will be held on the 15th, 21st and 22nd of March. The webinars are dedicated to academic and non-academic staff.
The Transform4Europe Alliance has developed various innovative training materials as short online training units (webinars). The training sessions will be launched soon and will take place from March to June 2023. The webinars will cater to and foster various skills – Innovative Teaching, Intercultural Communication, Digital Storytelling, Time and Project Management, etc. – that may be of use for every academic or/and non-academic staff member from across the Alliance.
Apply now: Erasmus+ Traineeship Competition. Turn the Adventure into an Experience!
A competition is open for Erasmus+ student or recent graduate traineeship grants. Application deadline is the 31st of March, 2023.
The placement period is from 2 to 6 months. Recent graduate traineeship must end – in a year after graduation.
Selection
All VMU fulltime degree students who have not used more than 10 months of their Erasmus mobility (study / traineeship) period are eligible for the Erasmus grant.

For student traineeship (traineeship during student’s year of studies)
- Filled-in application form „Outgoing-Application for Erasmus Student Traineeship (EU countries)“
- Confirmation by the company or organization (obligatory).
Documents must be submitted online.
For recent graduate traineeship (application must be submitted during the last year of studies)

- Confirmation by the company or organization (obligatory);
- Recommendation by a faculty member (obligatory).
The priority in the selection is given to
- students whom traineeship is an obligatory part of their study programme;
- students who have never been Erasmus traineeship students before.
Selection criteria
- student’s motivation;
- good knowledge of the language which will be used during the traineeship;
- student’s work, study, traineeship, participation in the international / academic projects, social activities experience in Lithuania and abroad;
- conformability between the chosen traineeship and student’s study programme;
- study results (first year MA students should attach transcript of records of their BA/MA degree to the application form).
The competition results will be sent to every participant via e-mail.
Competitions for Erasmus+ traineeships will take place each month until June 2023.
Transform4Europe invites to Festival of European Culture in Poland
Transform4Europe invites you to participate in the T4EU Festival of European Culture, which will be held on 24-28th April 2023 at the University of Silesia.
With the event taking place in two different cities, the visitors will not only be able to feel the atmosphere of an urban city of Katowice and a cross-border city of Cieszyn, but they will also get a taste of Silesia region and Cieszyn Land. In addition to that, they will get a chance to experience various forms of artistic creativity in a wide range of workshops that have been prepared. The workshops will be dedicated to filmmaking, music, theatre, dance, comics, ceramics, performance art, posters, animation, game design etc.
Travel and accommodation expenses of the students will be covered by T4EU initiative.
Application deadline for participants is March 12th.
