PhD student participate in a traineeship in Czech University of Life Sciences

I am Egidijus Katinas. PhD student of mechanical engineering of Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy. During October and November, I participate in a traineeship by Erasmus+ program in Department of Material Science and Manufacturing Technology of Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. There I introduce my university, faculty and my department to new colleagues, discussed about collaboration. We share our experience in materials preparation, testing, evaluation in field experiments. During my visit, I participate in installation of casting furnace VTC 200 V which will be used for their experiments and new materials preparation. Also, helped to make some field experiments which related to my PhD thesis.
Main purpose of traineeship was to develop new modelling method for my thesis. Doc. Ing. Rostislav Chotěborský was my supervisor and helped me to understand and apply model by discrete element method for my thesis.
At the end of traineeship, we had discussed about future plans and more visits. Also, participate in diploma awards for new PhD colleagues and visited Prague Christmas tree.
