Secondment in the University of Helsinki

Lector Erika Besuparienė from Research Institute for Bioeconomy participated in University of Helsinki, Faculty of Agriculture and Foresty, Departement of Economics and Management on 3-7 of June, 2019. The main aim of training was the development of skills about innovative methods and software of agriculture economics empirical research.

The training was useful of possibilities to discuss and also to try how the artificial intelligence methods could be applied on tax modeling researches.  One of most innovative artificial intelligence methods is evolutionary algorithms.  The research goal function and constrains was written with Matlab software, there exist possibility to use evolutional algorithms – genetic algorithm. Artificial intelligence methods can help for users to find optimal problem decision without difficult mathematical equation, but for user the principles of algorithms operation are still black box.

Also during the meeting with the partners prof. Vesa A. Niskanen (University of Helsinki, Finland) and prof. László T. Kóczy (Széchenyi István University, Hungary) was discussed about future internship in the autumn semester in Lithuania.
