Agricultural knowledge and innovation systems cluster
The Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System Cluster (the AKISC) is an ecosystem of progressive organizations joining their efforts on a voluntary basis, based on coordinated, partnership, and networked knowledge flows between organizations and institutions that develop and deploy knowledge and innovation for agriculture and related sectors, with the aim of advancing the sector progress, sustainability, and competitiveness.
Cluster objectives:
- Development of the agri-food sector by pooling research, studies, and knowledge-intensive business potential, and contributing to the development of agriculture, forestry and food, innovation, and knowledge creation;
- Contribution to the successful, effective implementation of the objectives of the CAP and of the European Union in terms of research, training, advice, knowledge exchange, competence development, agricultural innovation, and digitalization of agricultural and rural development operators;
- Contribution to the education, training, advisory activities, formation and implementation of agricultural policy and development, agricultural innovation, and the AKISC policy for agricultural and rural development operators.
- Representation of the interests of Cluster members at sectoral, national and international levels and promotion of the involvement of Cluster members in thematic EU networks, committees, international consortia and working groups.
