Incoming ERASMUS mobility from partner countries

Procedure of ERASMUS international credit mobility with partner countries

After selection of the candidate at partner country home university he should be nominated to VMU by sending his name and contacts to VMU International Cooperation Department (VMU-ICD). The following contact persons at VMU-ICD are responsible for international credit mobility exchanges with according partner countries:

  • Exchanges with African and South Meditaranian countries (Mali, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestina, Tunisia), Asian countries (Philippines, India, Indonesia, Kambodia, China, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand) – partner at VMU: assoc. prof. dr. Raimundas Rukuiža (erasmus.zua@vdu.lt).
  • Exchanges with Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo), East Partnership and Central Asian countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan), Rusia, Israel, American countries (USA, Canada, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Salvador, Uruguay), Industrial Asian countries (Japan, S.Korea) – partner at VMU: Egle Januškevičienė (egle.januskeviciene@vdu.lt).

Students mobility

Selected students should be nominated by home university by on-line nomination. Nomination and application procedure is available here. After nomination the student should:

– receive invitation and fill-in on-line application (attaching of Learning Agreement, Transcript of records, proof of English proficiency, passport copy). Application is available here: https://epasirasymas.vdu.lt/

– fill-in and let sign the Learning Agreement (LA). Student can use the LA which is formed by application database or use ECTS form which is available here:

For ERASMUS studies at VMU students should select the subjects for 28-30 credits from the list presented in database of VMU:

Students are not forced to pass successfully all exams of LA, but they have to follow all selected courses for 28-30 credits. After arrival to VMU the students will have to register for courses in study system of VMU (studentas.vdu.lt). After this registration the changes of LA could be possible.

After submission of application student will receive information about confirmation of his Learning Agreement and possibility to download the Acceptance Certificate.

After that the student can apply for national D visa for studies. Before applying, the student from VMU-ICD have to receive EPIS Mediation Letter registration code. To get it the student have to send to VMU-ICD (erasmus.zua@vdu.lt) the following information:

– first and second names, gender, date of born, citizenship;

– home university title in English;

– home address;

– time period of studies at VMU;

– passport No;

– passport copy as pdf file.

When applying for visa student should present:

– passport (must be valid at least + 3 months from the date when issued D visa would expire);

– filled application form for D visa with 1 photo (to be filled-in on: https://visa.vrm.lt/epm/);

– international health insurance (for the period of visa validity);

– registration number of EPIS system (see above).

All documents should be personally presented to responsible diplomatic mission of Lithuania – EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA in country. The closest Lithuanian Embassy to be found at:

If the student is citizen of country which citizens can arrive to Lithuania without visa, he can apply the D visa in Migration Service of Kaunas Police. For that he will need to have the same docs which he should have applying the visa at Lithuanian Embassy abroad.

Before coming to VMU the students should prepare the certificate form (the file: ERASMUS statement of study period at VMU EN.doc) with the signature of responsible person at home university (usually – International Office of home university) and at the beginning of mobility period at VMU it should be presented to VMU-ICD. Besides that, students have to fill-in (places marked in yellow) financial agreement data form (SMS Financial agreement data form VMU 107 – incoming.doc) and send it by e-mail to erasmus.zua.@vdu.lt. Teachers mobility

Selected teachers for the mobility should be nominated by International office of home university. After that the teachers have to present following docs:

– name of contact person at VMU responsible for acceptance;

– CV of the candidate (If the contact person is not clear);

– filled-in Mobility Agreement, with the signature and confirmation of International Office.

Before coming to VMU-AA the teachers should prepare fill-in (places marked in yellow) financial agreement (E+ grant agreement partner countries VDU-ZUA 2019.doc) and send it by e-mail to erasmus.zua.@vdu.lt. Those files are presented here:

If the citizens of teacher’s country need the Schengen visa for visit in Lithuania, the teacher can ask for according invitation letter (if the teacher will apply not at Lithuanian Embassy) or EPIS Mediation Letter registration code (when applying at Lithuanian Embassy). To get it the teacher have to send to VMU-ICD (erasmus.zua@vdu.lt) the following information:

– first and second names, gender, date of born, citizenship;

– home university title in English and duties;

– home address;

– period of visit at VMU;

– passport No;

– passport copy as pdf file.

Mobility grants

The mobility grants the students and teachers will receive after arrival to VMU-AA on the personal account. If the account is opened in Lithuania or other EU country, transfer will be made in the same day. Pre-financing is not possible. The candidates should buy the tickets from own sources or ask the advance in home University. Mobility grant for incoming students and teachers consists grant for subsistence and grant for travel.

Grant for subsistence for mobility of 2018 and 2019 projects:

  • for incoming students – 800 EUR/month, for incoming teachers – 140 EUR/day;

From 500 to 1999 km: 275,00 EUR
From 2000 to 2999 km: 360,00 EUR
From 3000 to 3999 km: 530,00 EUR

8000 km and more 1500,00 EUR

Before the payments the incoming students and teachers should sign the Financial agreement, which will be prepared and presented by VMU-ICD.
